Pediatric Neurologists Join International Pediatric Stroke Study
K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital joins over 100 institutions in 34 countries
K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center has joined the International Pediatric Stroke Study (IPSS), the world’s largest and most successful childhood stroke registry and network.
IPSS, a network of dedicated clinicians, scientists and research staff from more than 100 institutions in 34 countries, has enrolled more than 6,000 patients in a registry from which they will conduct high-quality clinical and imaging research studies.
The IPSS will continue to conduct transformational research with help and support from partner organization IPSO. Together, the IPSS and IPSO will provide the foundation for scientific and clinical collaborations, as well as advocate for the pediatric stroke community worldwide.
“The organization’s mission aligns with our goal of understanding, preventing and improving outcomes for pediatric stroke patients,” said Jan Wollack, M.D., division chief for pediatric neurology at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital. “As an IPSS center, we look forward to giving our patients access to groundbreaking research studies in pediatric stroke.”
