Dr. Cuccurullo Produces Update to Essential Resource for Physiatrists

Sara Cuccurullo, M.D., is receiving rave reviews for her latest update to an essential resource for physiatrists.

As Chair, Vice President and Medical Director at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, Dr. Cuccurullo is deeply invested in residency education and has served as residency program director for more than 25 years.

Dr. Cuccurullo has served on the board of directors of the Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP) and as AAP’s co-chair of Women in Academic Medicine Task Force. Dr. Cuccurullo also is an active member of the Academic Physiatrists Educational Council and recipient of the AAP’s Outstanding Service award.

Dr. Cuccurullo recently was awarded the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) Distinguished Member Award, the ROI-NJ Influencers in Health Care, and an Excellence in Research Writing award from the Association of Academic Physiatrists. Dr. Cuccurullo also was involved in the Graduate Medical Education Summit group, which is looking at revamping the residency educational curriculum for future PM&R residents.

She also has published and presented many scientific articles at the local, regional, national and international level.
