The George and Vita Kolber Family Health Center provides primary care and limited specialty care to meet the needs of every member of your family in a warm and individualized setting. Interpreting services are available for every language.
Services Offered
Primary Care (Adult and Pediatrics)
We provide primary care services, both well and sick visits, for the entire family, as well as chronic disease management, health education, cancer screenings, and more. The Family Health Center participates in the Vaccine For Children program from the New Jersey Department of Health and provides CDC-required vaccines for our pediatric patients.
Prenatal and Postpartum Obstetrics
We provide a case management approach to guide expectant mothers to get quality care, support, and education throughout your pregnancy and into the postpartum period. Care is also coordinated with the Maternal Fetal Medicine Department at Riverview Medical Center, who will evaluate each patient for high-risk conditions of pregnancy.
Gynecology
We provide general gynecology services such as annual exams and pap smears for patients, in addition to follow-up care for those who need follow-up treatment, such as colposcopy or endometrial biopsy.
Surgical Services
The Family Health Center offers a wide range of surgical services and treatment options for the following conditions:
- Robotic surgery: hernia repair, cholecystectomy, and colon.
- Hernia Repairs: Inguinal, ventral, umbilical, sports-type, and abdominal wall reconstruction
- Biliary Surgery: Cholecystectomy, common bile duct exploration, and liver biopsy.
- Abdominal Surgery including colon surgery: Laparoscopy/laparotomy, adhesiolysis, bowel resection for obstruction, cancer, bleeding, or perforation, appendectomy, colostomy, surgical treatment of diverticulitis, pilonidal cysts, and small intestine cancer.
- Lesions of the skin and soft tissue: Benign and malignant skin tumors, cysts, lipomas, hidradenitis, lymph node biopsy, and melanoma.
Podiatry
Our specialists provide expert care for conditions of the feet, including routine diabetes foot care.
Eligibility Information
If you have straight Medicaid, Medicare, certain Medicaid Managed Care, Charity care from Riverview Medical Center, or do not have insurance, please call our main number to make an appointment. Our front desk staff will be happy to assist you with questions and review the insurance types that are accepted at the facility. If you are a member of a Medicaid Managed Care HMO, your primary care doctor must be a doctor within our George and Vita Kolberg Family Health Center, and the doctor must be participating in the plan.
There is a charge for anyone without insurance. However, if you do not have insurance, you can set up an appointment or phone interview with a financial counselor once you have your first visit to see if you will qualify for NJ State Charity Care or one of the NJ State Medicaid Managed Care insurances.
The number for financial assistance is 732-902-7080. Having the following documents will greatly assist in the financial evaluation:
- Proof of income (three months of pay stubs)
- Proof of address (driver's license or envelope showing your current address)
- Social Security card
- Any type of insurance card
- Checking and savings account statement

HIV Treatment and Services
Riverview MEdical Center has provided HIV/AIDS patient care by experienced, knowledgeable, and devoted providers since 1988, providing prevention and early treatment of medical complications associated with HIV/AIDS. RMC’s program serves northern Monmouth County, including but not limited to Red Bank, Eatontown, Keansburg, Long Branch and Freehold. The program serves all HIV positive adult clients regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or socio-economic status.
Our infectious disease physicians follow the recommended Department Health and Human Services guidelines for use of antiretroviral agents and for the prevention and treatment of opportunistic infections. Medical Case Management is an integral part of medical care and is a core service provided. The program also provides psychosocial support, ongoing education on the importance of treatment adherence, prevention, and transmission: risk reduction and an understanding of HIV to patients and their loved ones in all aspects of the disease. Location: The HIV clinic is based within the George and Vita Kolber Family Health Center, located at 1 Riverview Plaza, Red Bank, N.J. 07701. The center is within Riverview Medical Center. For your convenience, free valet parking is available outside of the Blaisdell entrance to Riverview Medical Center.
Appointments: Appointments are required. For the Infectious Disease Clinic, the Case Management office is also located near the FHC, and no appointment is needed.
