The ALS Center at Hackensack University Medical Center is a nationally recognized leader in the fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
Our program collaborates with ALS United Greater New York, ensuring that people living with ALS have access to specialized, compassionate care in a supportive, family-oriented atmosphere.

- Adult and Pediatric Rheumatologists who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of all aspects of Lupus, and work to coordinate all your Lupus care.
- Adult and Pediatric Dermatologists to treat skin conditions associated with Lupus.
- Cardiac specialists to support your heart health and cardiac complications from Lupus.
- Nephrologists to diagnose and coordinate treatment of Lupus kidney-related issues.
- Pulmonologists to treat lung conditions related to Lupus
- Neurologists to diagnose and treat brain and nervous system complications due to Lupus
- Maternal fetal high-risk OB specialists to monitor and help treat patients with Lupus when pregnant

Your care team will consist of board-certified neurologists led by co-directors Florian P. Thomas, M.D., Ph.D. and Robert D. Connors, M.D. as well as nursing, psychology, physical therapy, sleep medicine, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, cognitive neurology, social work, nutrition, speech/language pathology, and palliative care professionals as needed.
