About Us

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease that affects people of all ages, from children to adults. The Lupus Center of Excellence at Hackensack University Medical Center provides multidisciplinary care to ensure early diagnosis and state-of-the-art, individualized treatment for those with Lupus. In addition to treating children and adults, we provide important transitional care from pediatric to adult rheumatology.

Our goal is to help those with Lupus be evaluated and diagnosed quickly so we can develop a comprehensive treatment plan to minimize organ damage and improve quality of life. We also offer opportunities to participate in innovative clinical trials and research studies aimed at finding a cure for lupus.

Because Lupus can affect multiple organs, our team includes doctors from several specialties, including pulmonologists, nephrologists, dermatologists, neurologists and high-risk OB-GYNs, who work together to develop individualized treatment plans.
