New Jersey comes together to help furloughed workers

Last week, Hackensack Meridian Health announced a policy to waive co-pays and deductibles for furloughed federal employees. Since then, health networks in New Jersey and throughout the nation are following in our footsteps. Hackensack Meridian Health CEO Robert C. Garrett’s op-ed talks about the importance of providing assistance to the many impacted workers trying to make ends meet.  “As a major industry that contributes nearly $24 billion to New Jersey’s economy, we in health care leadership take our role as corporate citizens seriously. And in this national crisis, it is our duty to do what millions of Americans have done so willingly -- let furloughed workers know we’ve got your back.”
