More than 800 participants gathered on Sunday for the 11th Annual Miles for Minds 5K and Fun Run/Walk at Roosevelt Park in Edison to support the Center for Brain Injuries at Hackensack Meridian Health JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute.
The morning began with the Fun Run/Walk at 8:30 a.m. and as the last of the walkers finished the one-mile trek, the horn sounded for the 5K to begin. In 15 minutes and 19.72 seconds, 28-year-old Rob Albano placed first overall and the first male. At 22 minutes and 10.72 seconds, 27-year-old Ashley Smolinka finished as the first female overall.
