Hackensack Meridian Health delivers 31 babies on New Year’s Day

Hackensack Meridian Health welcomed 31 babies on January 1, 2020. The first 2020 baby for the network and for Bergen County was born at the Donna A. Sanzari Women’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center. Ezekiel Eli Sepulveda came into the world at 12:13 a.m. weighing nine pounds five ounces. He was the first child of Jorge and Claret Sepulveda, who live in Paterson NJ and was one of nine babies born at Hackensack University Medical Center on New Year’s Day.
“He was waiting for 2020, and he waited for a three-hour delivery,” said Claret Supulveda. “The doctor was considering a C-section. They were prepping for surgery and then he came. We were blessed with a great nurse who was a coach for me.”
Jersey Shore University Medical Center welcomed the first baby of Monmouth County at 12:16 a.m. Weighing eight pounds 11 ounces, baby boy Musarra was delivered by Suzanne Frasca, D.O., Healthy Woman OB/GYN and was greeted by his parents Vincent Musarra and Adriana Fori. He was the first of 10 New Year’s babies born at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
Elias Anthony Alejandro Vargas was born at Raritan Bay Medical Center Perth Amboy, the first baby of Middlesex County at 12:54 a.m. The seven pounds two ounces baby boy was one of two babies delivered at the hospital on January 1.
Doug Plaag and Adriana Kelly are the proud parents of the first baby of Ocean County. Baby girl Plaagwas delivered at Ocean Medical Center at 1:19 a.m on January 1, weighing seven pounds nine ounces. In addition, two other babies were born at Ocean Medical Center that day.
Additional Hackensack Meridian Health hospitals also rang in the New Year delivering babies on the first of January:
Mountainside Medical Center – one baby boy
Palisades Medical Center – two baby girls
Pascack Valley Medical Center - three baby boys
Southern Ocean Medical Center – one baby girl
