April 30, 2021 - Holmdel, NJ - Hackensack Meridian Bayshore Medical Center has administered its 15,000th COVID-19 vaccine after beginning its vaccination program on December 18, 2020.
“This milestone is an incredible achievement for Bayshore Medical Center and the entire Hackensack Meridian Health network, said Frank Citara, president and chief hospital executive. Our team has been working diligently since day one to provide our community with a convenient and safe appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.”
Bayshore Medical Center began administering the vaccine to team members and clinical staff in December 2020 who have been at the forefront of the battle against COVID-19 since day one. As eligibility was expanded by the New Jersey Department of Health, Bayshore Medical Center immediately began accepting those who met the state’s criteria.
“Not only were we very quick to begin vaccinating our Bayshore’s Healthcare Heroes, our team quickly adjusted and was prepared to vaccinate anyone who was eligible, said Citara. We have also been fortunate to form partnerships with police and fire departments to vaccinate first responders as well as local school boards to provide appointments for faculty members in Holmdel and Middletown.”
As of today, New Jersey has now fully vaccinated almost 3 million residents, according to the New Jersey Department of Health.
