Hackensack Meridian Health’s John Theurer Cancer Center Welcomes Deric Park, as New Chief of Neuro-Oncology Division and Professor at the School of Medicine

Brings Expertise in Brain and Spinal Cancer to JTCC
Hackensack Meridian Health is proud to welcome Deric M. Park, M.D., F.A.C.P., to the renowned team at the John Theurer Cancer Center as Chief of Neuro-Oncology. He will also be joining the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine as a professor in the Departments of Neurology and Oncology.
Dr. Park joins the John Theurer Cancer Center and Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine from his most recent roles as Associate Professor of Neurology from the Pritzker School of Medicine at The University of Chicago, and Chief of the Section of Neuro-Oncology at the University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center.
With more than 20 years of experience as a board-certified neurologist and neuro-oncologist, Dr. Park specializes in diagnosis and treatment of common and rare forms of primary and metastatic brain and spinal cancers, and their many devastating complications.

We will continue to build this program to better serve our patients suffering from brain and spine tumors.”
In addition to his impressive background as a practitioner, Dr. Park commands an equally impressive academic reputation, with prestigious academic appointments in post-doctoral research and professorial roles at such institutions as faculty positions at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, the University of Virginia, and the National Cancer Institute, just to name a few.
As a physician with such an impressive academic and professional resume in his field, Dr. Park’s greatest and most important quality is a driven commitment to superior patient care to every aspect of his work.
Included in Dr. Park’s dedication to patient care is a longtime research focus in new and better therapies offering greater patient benefit, and a collaborative and compassionate approach to his bedside manner in implementing case-by-case treatments to meet the individual needs of his patients.
