Hackensack Meridian Health, New Jersey’s largest and most comprehensive health network, is proud to announce that it has been recognized as one of the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® in 2025 by Great Place To Work® and Fortune magazine. This is Hackensack Meridian Health’s first time being named to this prestigious list, one of only nine health care organizations that made the list and the highest ranked health care organization in New Jersey. Earning a spot means that Hackensack Meridian Health is one of the best companies to work for in the country.
The 100 Best Companies to Work For list honors companies that build a high-trust workplace environment, measured through Great Place To Work’s proprietary survey platform. Confidential feedback from more than 1.3 million employees in the U.S. is matched against HR data from participating companies. Only companies with consistently high survey responses across the 60 statements that comprise the Trust Index™ Survey are honored with placement on the list.
“At Hackensack Meridian Health, our world-class team members are continuously driving innovation, pushing for excellence and providing compassionate care,” said Robert C. Garrett, FACHE, chief executive officer, Hackensack Meridian Health. “I want to thank our team for all that they do to improve the health and well-being of our communities in New Jersey and beyond. We will continue to strive to cultivate a positive work environment for our team members so they can continue to provide the best possible care to the patients we serve.”
The Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For List is highly competitive. Companies are only considered for the list if they are a Great Place to Work Certified™ organization with 1,000 or more employees in the U.S. Companies are assessed on their ability to create a great employee experience that cuts across job level, business unit, race, gender, age, disability status, or any aspect of employee identity.
Earning a spot on the list is an important indicator of overall company performance. Companies on the 100 Best list consistently outperform the market and exceed their competitors on key business measures like retention and innovation.
“Leaders are the reason a business succeeds or fails,” says Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place To Work. “In the more than 30 years we’ve studied the workplace, our data proves that how you treat people shows up in your financial performance.”
This year’s list of winners offers compelling insights into the workforce strategies needed to thrive in the AI era.
“When you measure trust, you uncover the potential that exists in an organization,” Bush says. “Employees at companies on this list have higher levels of trust in their leaders and in their organization, unlocking their creativity, passion, and resilience.”
“Fortune is happy to have collaborated with Great Place To Work for the 28th year to recognize the 100 Best Companies to Work For,” says Alyson Shontel, editor-in-chief of Fortune. “In a difficult macro environment with unprecedented challenges, these companies seemed to navigate their organizations toward steady and positive working environments for employees.
