United Hospital Fund Recognizes Hackensack Meridian Health’s Jose M. Azar at 2023 Tribute to Excellence in Health Care Event

Hackensack Meridian Health, New Jersey’s largest and most comprehensive health network, is proud to announce that Jose M. Azar, MD, executive vice president, chief quality officer, Hackensack Meridian Health, was recognized at United Hospital Fund’s (UHF) fifth annual Tribute to Excellence in Health Care event. Dr. Azar was recognized for his performance as a quality improvement leader for the network.

“Dr. Azar has been instrumental in helping Hackensack Meridian Health provide high-quality, safe care to the patients we serve,” said Robert C. Garrett, FACHE, chief executive officer of Hackensack Meridian Health. “Dr. Azar’s high standards have helped us transform the patient experience and improve health outcomes, and we congratulate him on receiving this well-deserved recognition from the United Hospital Fund.”

Honorees included 63 physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, and a broad range of other health care leaders. Honorees were selected by senior executives at their institution and represented 32 hospital systems, long-term care facilities, home care organizations, independent practice associations, federally qualified health centers, medical groups, and behavioral health organizations across the greater New York City Metropolitan Area.
