Application Process

Candidate Qualifications

Leadership, academic interest, dedication to learn, teach and contribute to the field of dermatology. If you are interested in applying to the HMH Palisades Medical Center Dermatology Residency Program, all positions are Matched through the National Residency Match Program (NRMP), and applications are electronic through ERAS.

For more information, please contact the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). You will need to contact your medical school Dean's Office to access the MyERAS web-based application. We require at least three (3) letters of recommendation, a Dean's letter, transcript, USMLE Board Scores, CV and Personal Statement.

Your completed application will be thoroughly reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Interviews are by invitation only.

Rotation Information

Rotation not required for interviews. Previous GME not exclusionary.

Thank you for your interest in our Dermatology residency program. These are the requirements for 4th year medical students to rotate in our dermatology program. If you meet these requirements then please send the program coordinator an email with all the required documents in one single email. Applications will be accepted the first week in March (not prior) for the start of the MS4 academic year in July.

Please review the following important information before applying:

Minimum exam requirement for all Dermatology audition rotations is COMLEX 600/PASS (for either Level COMLEX 1 & 2; this is not flexible) and/or USMLE 245/PASS (Step 1 & 2; this is not flexible). Both scores are not required - Level/Step 1 will suffice for March. If you do not have step 2 yet please inform us when you are planning on taking it.

Please submit for rotation consideration:

1) Please submit CV, copy of most recent transcripts and COMLEX 1 and/or USMLE 1. Additionally if available COMLEX 2 and/or USMLE 2 if you have it.

2) Rotation Checklist: only fill out the top portion of the form

Once the med student has been selected for an audition rotation then he/she needs to submit supporting documentation listed in the checklist to secure a spot. Documents must be received well in advance of the rotation.

Rotations will be scheduled on a rolling, first –come, first-served basis.

Program must have an Affiliation Agreement with medical school

ROTATIONS DATES: 2 WEEKS

Rotations dates will be confirmed within 1 month of application submission. (if all documents are available) If you requested dates and are not available, you will be contacted with alternatives.

Rotations are not considered guaranteed until all supporting documents have been received.
