OBGYN Residency Program Application Process

The Hackensack University Medical Center Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology accepts applications through the Residency Centralized Application Service (ResidencyCAS). The only documentation reviewed for consideration is that submitted through ResidencyCAS.

Please Note:

In line with national recommendations and for the safety of all, our interviews this year will all be conducted virtually.

2024 Application Submission, Deadline, Release

September 4: Application Submission Begins
September 25: Application Deadline. Any applications received after that date will not be reviewed.
October 1: Applications Released to Residency Programs for Review

Invitations to interview will be extended on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Invitations to interview will then be extended on a rolling basis thereafter.

We review applications when they contain at least the following:

  • ResidencyCAS application
  • Personal statement
  • CV (generated through ResidencyCAS)
  • USMLE Step 1 (USMLE Step 2 if available)
  • Medical School transcripts

3 letters of recommendation, 2 from ObGyn, one of which must include a SLOE

Important Dates

October 1 – October 29, 2024: Application Review. If you wish to have your application reviewed for consideration, the above mentioned application components must be received by
September 25, 2024.

October 29, 2024: We will be extending our initial invitations to interview.

Please Note:

We only communicate with applicants through ERAS.

Interview Dates

Interviews will be held between November 1– December 30, 2024. If necessary interviews may be extended into January, 2025.

The Ob/Gyn residents host an informal virtual gathering the evening before the interview date for those invited applicants who are able to attend.
