Why did you choose Orthopedics? I worked as a physical therapist and gained an appreciation for anatomy and kinesiology while working with the orthopedic patient population, and I wanted to become more involved in the art of correcting the anatomy directly via surgery. At the heart of it, I love that it’s a specialty that focuses on giving a patient their functionality and quality of life back, despite facing a severe trauma, being born with a deformity, or the progressive wear & tear that comes with sports, working, or simply getting older.

Why did you choose Orthopedics? Orthopedics is an amazing specialty! It's a ton of fun being in the OR and working with your hands. It’s very rewarding when a problem is fixable with surgery, and patients are able to get back to doing the things they enjoy. Orthopedic surgeons can make an immediate positive impact on patients after an injury or in people experiencing significant pain.
