Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency Program Research | JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute

Research & Scholarly Work

At JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, opportunities to pursue basic and clinical research projects are available and encouraged.

An original research project is required during residency training. JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute is currently conducting research studies in the areas of head injuries, stroke recovery, spasticity, Parkinson’s disease and neuropsychology, to name only a few. Each resident, after identifying a research area, is encouraged to present at the AAPM&R or AAP national meeting prior to graduation. Residents also have the opportunity to participate in ongoing research projects and the Rehab Medicine Scientist Training Program funded by NIH and the AAP.
