A Tidal Wave of Impact for a Children's Hospital

Storina Family at Jenkinson's Boardwalk in Point Pleasant

A visit to Jenkinson’s Boardwalk at Point Pleasant Beach is a summer staple at the Jersey Shore. Whether spending a day at the beach under the sun or an evening playing arcade games and eating ice cream, the boardwalk is a place designed to welcome families and offer a wonderful experience for all. And when Pasquale “PJ” Storino - whose family has owned and operated the East Coast attraction since the ’70s - began to search for a way to give back to the local community, he thought of a place that shares a similar mission.

Only a short distance away from Jenkinson’s sits Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital. With a mutual vision centered around family experience, the Storino’s decided to make a generous donation to the Greatest Need Fund at the Children’s Hospital.

By donating to the unrestricted fund, their gift will aid any area that benefits patients and families the most. The fund supports a variety of pediatric programs - from child life to support groups - as well as costs for unexpected capital equipment purchases or needs. "My family and I hope that our gift to the Children's Hospital helps provide top-quality health care close to home for local families and children,” says PJ.

One project that will benefit from the family's generosity includes the renovation of the pediatric waiting area to include the addition of boardwalk photos, which will certainly bring joy and comfort to patients and families - like that of a day at the shore. A big thank you to the Storino family for their incredible contribution and for making a difference in the lives of our smallest patients and their families!
