At JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, Neuro and Rehab Work Together to Improve Quality of Life
The post craniotomy rehabilitation program for malignant glioma is a pilot study at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute that is evaluating the effectiveness of an aggressive cardiac conditioning and physical therapy program versus the standard rehabilitation program.
With very little data published or significant work currently being done with cardiovascular conditioning of glioma patients, the team at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute hopes this study leads to not only an improved quality of life but also that these glioma patients will have increased progression-free survival rates as compared to the control group.
