Guest Accommodations & Services

We understand that being away from home can be stressful, so we provide patients and their families with the highest level of hospitality to make them feel at ease and comfortable in their new surroundings.

Our hospitals offer semi-private, private, and luxury rooms for our patients. Our current accommodations and renovations feature many amenities, such as flat-screen satellite televisions with numerous language options, a robust dining menu with international flair, and complimentary Wi-Fi access. Some of our luxury rooms offer sleeper sofas for overnight guests and beautiful beach or city views. Patients staying in our luxury rooms can also request complimentary high tea service in the afternoon.

If a patient does not require a hospital stay, our team can recommend and arrange a stay in a comfortable hotel or furnished apartment that is conveniently located to the hospital.

We provide translation and interpretation services for all patients as requested. We can also accommodate patients with vision impairment, hearing impairment, oxygen, or other special needs. Please contact us at 551-996-1852 to let us know about the patient’s special needs prior to your scheduled appointment.

We also offer concierge services that support the entire family, including:

  • Transferring relevant medical information to our physicians
  • Assisting with the Visa process
  • Helping with billing, insurance, international banking and payment plans
  • Arranging for travel and lodging
  • Scheduling and coordinating appointments
  • Booking transportation services
  • Ordering dietary preferences
  • Supporting all religious and cultural needs

Our team will also continue to work closely with your referring physician throughout your treatment and will continue to be available for consultations after your treatment at our hospitals.

Financial Information

Commercial, Contracted or Self-Pay Patients

If you have health insurance, we will print insurance claim forms for you and send claims either to your insurance company or directly to you, if preferred.

If your international insurance is not contracted or you do not have insurance, you will be required to make a pre-care deposit before your first appointment. This amount will be applied to the initial charges. If additional services are ordered by your Hackensack Meridian Health physicians, you may be scheduled for an additional patient account appointment to collect an additional deposit or an estimate of proposed services.

Upon completion of all visits, you can meet with a member of our financial services team to review charges that are posted and get an estimate of the services that have not yet been entered into the billing record. Our team can answer any questions you have about charges, payments, refunds, and other items. You are expected to pay your account in full at the end of your visit.

The following are acceptable forms of payment for self-pay charges:

  • Wire transfers, VISA, MasterCard, & AMEX (through a secure patient portal – confirm if finance has one)
  • Traveler’s checks, certified checks drawn on a U.S. bank, or money orders
  • Cash (U.S. dollars only accepted by on-campus appointment and security escort to Cashier)

Embassy and Other Government-Sponsored Patients

If your appointments are covered by an embassy or other government agency, Hackensack Meridian Health will require a letter of guarantee authorizing payment for services prior to your appointment. These entities make the final decisions on approved services to be covered, including patients' out-of-pocket expenses either during or after an approved length of treatment. Except for emergency medical care sought at Hackensack Meridian Health, a letter of authorization from the embassy or other government agency will be required before treatment can be provided.

Hackensack Meridian Health will bill the embassy for all approved services on your behalf. For any additional services not authorized by the letter of guarantee, please contact our financial services team member who will assist with an approval request or a pre-service deposit.
