Urology Residency Diversity Scholarship

The Department of Urology at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) would like to invite 4th year medical students who bring diverse perspectives to our training program to apply for a Diversity scholarship in the amount of $2500 to off-set the cost of application fees, travel and lodging while rotating with us as a visiting Urology subintern.

At Hackensack Meridian Health, we are deeply committed to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion across our network and ensuring that all communities have access to high-quality innovative healthcare. The goal of this scholarship is to encourage medical students interested in pursuing Urology as a career to engage in a 4 week experience where students will be exposed to the latest surgical techniques and advances in endoscopy, pelvic surgery, and robotic surgery while having close interactions with faculty and housestaff as an integral member of the team serving our diverse community.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a holistic review of applications will be performed of students who meet the following criteria:

  • Be in good standing at a LCME accredited medical school (outside of New York and New Jersey)
  • Completion of USMLE Step 1 examination
  • Self-identification of minority or disadvantaged status by any of these criteria:
