Hackensack Meridian Health has a history of sustainability leadership and is a strategic initiative in 2024 to "expand HMH's commitment to core environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies that strengthen community wellbeing, improve health equity, address underlying social determinants of health and increase environmental sustainability."

- 40,000 pounds diverted from landfill
- $235,300 saved from OR Kit Reformulation
Responsible Purchasing
- 53% antibiotic-free meat + 28% local/sustainable food
- 95% of cleaning products third party certified green
- 100% Flooring and 100% furnishings meet healthy interior guidelines
Energy Management
- $116 million invested in infrastructure upgrades, saving: 60 million kilowatt hours of electricity and 1.5 million therms of natural gas
