HMH Research Compliance
Foreign Interactions and Research Security
Over the last decade, the U.S. Government has grown more concerned over the threat of undue foreign government influence on the U.S research enterprise.
- National Security Presidential Memo 33
- CHIPS and Science Act
- National Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Executive Order
In response, federal agencies and funders are requiring institutions to implement training and compliance programming to address these concerns and ensure a robust export control compliance program.
At HMH, all foreign activities and sponsored travel must be disclosed as part of the annual research disclosure. These activities are reviewed and if needed, additional approvals may be required.
HMH has also developed and curated the following resources to support researchers seeking NIH funding for addressing Foreign Components and Other Support.
